Riverstown Annual Vintage Day 2008

Many attractions and activities will form part for what is known to be Sligo’s largest Vintage event throughout the year. With the show being held on the grounds of Sligo Folk Park, the visitors will also have an opportunity to see the large collection and exhibition at the Park. Some of the very distinctive features of Sligo Folk Park, such as the reproduction of a small Irish town in the main exhibition area, the fully restored old-world Millview House and numerous rural and agricultural showpieces, will be an excellent backdrop for this event.

With many entries already received, the promoters are still inviting exhibitors from all over Ireland and Northern Ireland to participate in this year’s event. As demonstrated at past Vintage Days, exhibits included the widest possible range from Steam Engines, Vintage Cars and Tractors, threshing right down to working displays including Wood Turning and Butter Making.

There will also be a very attractive entertainment package on offer for young and old, making this day a real family day out. Entertainment this year will include Jimmy Buckley and his band, local musicians and drama acts.
